In 1891 Erwin, Edward & Henry Jennings started the Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company in Bridgeport Connecticut.
They specialized in metal art and maintained a staff of artists and sculptors to craft their metal art objects
which included clocks, bookends, statues, metal cases, candelabras, corkscrews, desk sets, figurines, inkwells, jewelry boxes, lamps and some silver-plated flatware. Most objects were made in "ormolu" (trademark J.B. 'Ormolu Gold') and bronze ('Nouveau Bronze') or spelter (white metal) plated to look like bronze.
Their original items were signed with the initials "JB" on each pieces. In the early 1950's the Jennings Brothers Manufacturing
Company went out of business and the art object casts/molds were purchased by Philadelphia Manufacturing Co of Philadelphia, PA.
