The Stewart Warner "Varsity" is a beautiful blend of deco and machine age styling that was marketed towards college students and were often sold with two-tone painted cabinets carrying the school colors. Stewart Warner also had available the standard brown bakelite, plaskon or ivory-painted bakelite cabinets. This particular model is most likely a later version released a year or two after the original Varsity series was introduced. The original "Varsity" series including the model 97-562 used a 4-tube superheterodyne with regeneration around the I.F. stage, and this particular model 07-5B1 (chassis model 07-5B) has the standard AA5 5-tube superheterodyne receiver circuit.
